The Tigers Softball team, coached by Roberto Andolfi, had a unique opportunity to participate in a tournament held in Taranto, Italy, by the Tritons Baseball and Softball ASD.

The Tigers played two games, one against Taranto Tritons and the other against Foggia Softball. Encountering these teams helped to gain experience and learn from mistakes committed during the games.

The Tigers won their first game against Taranto with the score of 12-5. The second game of the tournament was Taranto vs Foggia, where Foggia won with the score of 4-10. The Tigers lost their decisive game against Foggia with the score of 12-2, which led to the final victory going to Foggia, second place for the Maltese and third place for Taranto Tritons.

The award ceremony was attended by the Councillor for Sport Sebastiano Romeo, who also threw the first pitch of the tournament, and communal councillor Gionatan Scasciamacchia.

The Maltese team thanked everyone for their generous hospitality, as well as the Tigers Softball Club for making this trip possible.

The Tigers will now commence training next Thursday to start preparing for their trip to Saronno in September.

Other future events are the arrival of the Cosmos Softball in October and the third international tournament being held here in December. Those who are interested in starting softball can join the Tigers next Thursday at 6.30pm at the University Grounds.
