Marsaxlokk ASC are at present doing everything within their possibilities to get affiliation with the parent body, the Amateur Swimming Association (ASA).
The club was newly formed on 17 May when a general extraordinary meeting was held following set procedures as instructed by KMS and ASA and also according to our statute.
At the moment the club has 99 paying members and a demand by children interested in taking up swimming lessons is also very encouraging
A voluntary coach is available to this end.
A detailed and very promising proposal/Action Plan has been presented to ASA after a positive meeting between the two entities on 23 May.
The club is now expecting to be approved and affiliated soon with the ASA. Once this is achieved it will be able to ask the Kunsill Malti ghall-Isport for the keys to the ‘Marsaxlokk Waterpolo Pitch’. This was confirmed by KMS during a meeting held on 14 June.
The club is now turning its main focus on giving the children the opportunity to train although its main aim is to turn the club into a social hive of activity, including making it a favourite meeting place for Marsaxlokk families during the hot summer months.
The club knows there is a lot of work to be done. Therefore it is also calling on members who can contact them on [email protected] and [email protected]. Any kind of help will be greatly appreciated.
