Danica Bonello Spiteri, right, will once again attempt the full Ironman distance triathlon tomorrow at the Outlaw Triathlon in Nottingham.

This will be her second ironman participation following that of Austria in 2009.   Already showing fine form after a top 10 finish in the Lake District half ironman a few weeks ago Bonello Spiteri is out to improve her time on the 226 km distance.

The race will start with a 3.8km swim in the regatta lake at Holme Pierrepont National Water Sports Centre. The 180km undulating bike course will feature three loops around Nottinghamshire countryside while the ending 42.2km marathon distance will be run around the lake and along the river Trent.

The race organisers describe Nottingham’s Outlaw Triathlon as (almost) as legendary as Robin Hood, the Major Oak and Brian Clough! Those who conquered the first Outlaw Triathlon are held in local folklore having outwitted the Sheriff to complete a 2.4mile swim, 112mile bike ride and 26.2mile run.
