We recently visited Malta for the first time and although we found the island and people delightful, we doubt whether we shall return until you have a considerably improved bus service. 

We appreciate that there is a new system in place and there will inevitably be a settling-in period, but the difficulties we encountered getting around were beyond belief and subsequently we only saw half of what we had hoped to see in the time. 

Many times we waited over an hour at stops where there should have been a bus every quarter of an hour and what should have been a simple journey between Marsaxlokk and Mdina via Valletta took nearly three hours.

We feel very sorry for the local people trying to go to and from work having to endure this - for us as tourists it meant many precious hours standing around at the side of the road when we should have been seeing your lovely island. 

Arriva Malta needs to get its act together fast!
