Twelve goalkeepers from the Mario Muscat Goalkeeper School successfully attended a goalkeeper training camp at Scuola Numero Uno recently.
The locals joined 22 Italians and one Portuguese goalkeeper for the 18th summer camp organised by Prof. Giuseppe De Fidio.
All goalkeepers also had the opportunity to train under Siena primavera head coach Massimo Cataldi, who was impressed with the potential of the Maltese boys.
The group was also invited at Coverciano which is the technical centre of Italy’s national teams. They also visited the football museum where all world cup trophies are kept.
Another first was Mary Anne Mumform who is the first female keeper to attend this camp. Birkirkara keeper Dylan Galea was chosen as the best goalkeeper of the camp.
This camp was made possible thanks to various sponsors mainly Solo Optical, Chevrolet and General Soft Drinks Ltd.
