Recently the Gozo Karate Club had the honour to host Chief Instructor Aidan Carroll from the Republic of Ireland for a seminar about The Hard Target Self Defence System at the Gozo Sports Complex in Victoria, Gozo.

The seminar was divided into two sessions. The first, which was mainly theoretical, covered the following themes: developing a self-protection game plan; understanding the criminal mind-set; understanding body language; and self-defence and the Law.

The second part was more practical and included training on: protecting one’s personal space; pre-emptive strikes; release from chokes and strangles; ground fighting; and defence against knife holdups.
