Waterpolo: Marsascala Extend lead at the top

Marsascala opened up a better advantage, at the top of the standings, beating their closest rivals in a low score encounter Valletta had the better opening of the match.

By the interval both teams were level at 3-3. Early on, in the last period, Valletta once again drew level, but Marsascala finished off with a three goal run without reply.

Expulsions were not converted sufficiently at both ends. Marsascala had four man-ups, but only scored in one. Valletta were with an extra man in the water on nine occasions, but fopund the net three times.

For the winners, goalie Edward Arrigo covered himself with honour, denying Valletta on numerous occasions.

Marsascala had Milos Koralji and John Licari, both with a brace of goals. They also had Stephen Micallef back from suspension.

For the Citizens, Giorgio Sammut scored twice. They had Clyde Bonello still missing
