In a company announcement on Friday, GO announced that Dr Michael Mertsch has been appointed Chief Technical Officer with immediate effect. Dr Mertsch will be replacing Ing. Joseph Bugeja, who has resigned from the post of Chief Technical Officer with the company with immediate effect.

Dr Mertsch has been working in the telecommunications industry for more than 25 years. He is well experienced with telecommunications technologies, networks and the business of fixed and mobile carriers and has been part of corporate management for telecommunications companies at an executive level with carriers across Europe, Asia and Africa.

Since 1998 he has been working as a senior executive with Detecon International GmbH, Germany, leading assignments in Taiwan, South Asia, Germany and Romania.
