APS Bank Launches second photography competition

Malta Independent Sunday, 31 July 2011, 00:00 Last update: about 11 years ago

Following the success of last year’s competition, APS Bank – in collaboration with the Malta Photographic Society – is organising its second photography competition. ‘Green’ is the intriguing theme chosen for this year’s event and all entries in this thought-provoking competition are required to include a Maltese touch. Participants are challenged to capture this broad subject from their own unique perspective, whether the colour in itself or any of the various connotations that the word has. The winning entries will be determined mainly on the basis of the author’s creativity and the work’s composition.

The closing date for the competition is 6 August, after which all the entries will be reviewed by an independent panel of judges, coordinated by the Malta Photographic Society. Cash prizes will be awarded to the photographers ranked in the top three places and consolation prizes will be given to those in the next 37 places. The results will be published by the end of September and short-listed entries will then form part of a photographic exhibition that is being planned for the beginning of next year. The selected entries may also be featured in the bank’s annual calendar, promotional material or other publications.

More information about this competition is available from all the bank’s branches or website www.apsbank.com.mt. Those interested in participating can also enquire at the Malta Photographic Society’s premises at 137 Old Bakery Street, Valletta, or website www.maltaphotographicsociety.org
