The UEFA Control and Disciplinary Body has fined local champions Valletta FC €3,000 after finding the club guilty that their supporters threw some 3-4 half empty plastic bottles onto the pitch.

The above fine must be paid within 30 days of this decision.

The committee decided during last Wednesday’s meeting, that after repeated calls for a change in behaviour, the matter has been taken out of the club’s hands and is one which is, quite rightly, going to be treated very seriously by the MFA – thanks to CCTV cameras – and the Police for the coming season.

The club has issued an appeal to their numerous supporters on its official website urging them to “listen closely to the requests of the Club, the Malta Football Association and the Police.”
