The Try Tag Rugby All-Stars are favourites for this weekend’s Malta International Tag Rugby Festival as teams descend on Malta from England, Scotland, France and Gozo.

The London based All-Stars team recently took out the Rochdale Tag Rugby Festival and will head to Bruff in Ireland next month, but they will be met in Malta by some stiff opposition.

A Montpellier team from France is expected to turn heads and a Maltese based team to raise anti-doping awareness, aptly named 100% ME, will take to Hamrun’s Victor Tedesco Stadium for the 10-team tournament this Saturday.

The Gozitans will continue the expanding trend for Maltese rugby as seven domestic teams enjoy the festival that will culminate in the Island Boat Party on Saturday evening.

Festival organisers said “It will be certainly good for social tag rugby players from Malta to play against teams from abroad. It always adds that X-factor to a game for the social players”
