Child Molesters

Malta Independent Monday, 8 August 2011, 00:00 Last update: about 15 years ago

So, Father Francesco, known as Godwin Scerri raped a boy at St.Joseph’s, Hamrun and saw this charge dismissed! The reason was because the charge sheet stated that this heinous crime took place in Marfa and not in Hamrun. After listening to various witnesses and sifting through the evidence, magistrate Saviour Demicoli confirmed that the crime did in fact take place, but in Hamrun.

So, if Scerri was charged with committing rape in Marfa and was cleared because the poor boy was raped in Hamrun, why cannot the same convicted child molester be again charged with raping this unfortunate, helpless child in Hamrun?

Furthermore I beg to ask, who was the person responsible for “erroneously” jotting down the wrong information on the charge sheet which wrongly showed Marfa instead of Hamrun?

Is this person being held accountable? Is there any chance of this person being sacked or at the very least, is this person being seriously questioned by the authorities as to how he or she managed to mistake Hamrun for Marfa?

Is the same careless person being charged with gross neglect in the performance of his/her duties?

Another question comes to mind, this time put to the Holy See:

What is the Vatican’s reason for not taking a decision before this coming October, to defrock Godwin the convicted child sex abuser?

As the saying goes, “God acts in mysterious ways”…but boy oh boy…the mind boggles at the way our Law system and the Law of the Church “work”!
