The Tennis Club Kordin, in collaboration with The Malta Tennis Federation is hosting this year’s U-14 European tournament.

For yet another year, this tournament has attracted a significant number of players from various countries. The number of participants this year sums up to 144 players, 97 of whom are boys and 47 girls.

For yet another year, the European tournament is expected to be of an exceptionally high level having the best ranked players reaching 74 in Europe in the boys’ category with Antonio Subugueiro from Portugal and the 45th ranked girl Evgenia Sedunova from Russia.

Malta will be represented by Jeremy Borg and Zack Ciappara in the boys’ category, while, the girls team will consist of Rebecca McCarthy and Alexia Cassar, both currently holding a ranking of 605 in Europe, Maria Giorgia Farrugia Sacco ranked 759, Katrina Sammut and Naomi Zammit Ciantar.

The tournament will commence with the qualifying rounds being played on Saturday 20 and Sunday 21 August. Signing in for this draw will take place on Friday.

Signing in for the main draw is to be held on Sunday 21 August with the Main draw matches starting next on Monday 22 August and ending with the final on Saturday 27 August.

The doubles final is scheduled for Friday 26 August.
