Sliema returned to winning ways, with their third victory in four matches, over Exiles, and this gave them back the third spot in the standings. The blues went three goals in front, in the opening session, and they never relinquished their advantage, which didn’t go less than goals throughout the encounter. In this match it was Mark Kallay who was left out, along with the other long term absentees. John Paris was still suspended for Exiles.

The Torri side had Marco Cuk as the game’s best scorer, with a nap hand of goals, but this didn’t prevent Sliema from obtaining victory. Exiles also converted their first four man ups, but failed their last two, in the final session. For Sliema there were only two numerical advantages, and they scored in the first one. Their two players, Mark Meli and John Soler finished up with a hat trick each.

Sliema kept their three goal advantage till the end of the first period, and then the two sides shared four goals between them, in the second session, and at the interval Sliema were leading 6-3. Exiles’ efforts after the break didn’t bring them any nearer, and Sliema extended their advantage by another goal. Goals were scarcer in the last period, but Sliema still managed to creep further away from their adversaries, to finish up comfortable winners.
