Maltese Skeet shooter Clive Farrugia improved upon his previous performance yesterday at the European Championships being held at Belgrade.
Farrugia managed a perfect straight of 25/25 followed by 23/25 over the two rounds on the second day of the championships.
On Thursday, Clive Farrugia had hit only 22, 20 and 22 clays for a modest total of 64/75. With a total of 112 out of 125 clays, the Maltese youngster failed to make it to the barrage finals where seven shooters with 124/125 had to go for a shoot off. George Achilles from Cyprus was eliminated and finished 7th place.
Frenchman Delaunay won the competition, hitting 14 clays in the shoot off, one more than second placed Wenzel of Germany. Tomecek of the Czech Republic finished third.
The next International event is the ISSF World Championships Belgrade that will start in the first week of September. This will be followed by the ISSF World Cup Finals to be organized at The United Arab Emerites . William Chetcuti already qualified for this competition with his gold medal in the ISSF World Cup Beijing 2011.
