Malta’s New Prime TV Shopping channel launched on Melita

Prime Shopping Channel – a new local teleshopping TV station – has been added exclusively to Melita’s channel line-up. Prime Shopping Channel is a brand new privately owned local TV station launching its commercial broadcast schedule in early September with test transmissions are already underway.

Prime Shopping Channel is available for free to all Melita Digital and Interactive TV subscribers on channel 109. The channel will focus on the “As Seen On TV” proposition with all products sold and delivered by the channel to your doorstep.

The people behind the new channel include broadcasting veteran Herman Bonaci as well as entrepreneur Roberto Calleia. Commenting on the new TV channel, Mr Calleia said: “We are extremely pleased to be part of Melita’s channel line-up. Viewers can expect high quality teleshopping products and an operation running on international standards. We have invested a lot in our resources and technical equipment. Most importantly we are building on a strong teleshopping operation, based on quality products and customer service.”

Ivor Micallef, Product manager for TV at Melita welcomes the new channel addition and said he was confident that Prime Shopping Channel will prove to be very successful among Melita TV viewers due to the quality of the products being sold and the high standard of production being adopted.

At the same time Melita has also added another two channels to its line-up including Russia Today (Channel 211) and CCTV News (Channel 212). To update the channel list, Melita digital subscribers can press the channel up and down buttons simultaneously to initiate a software update.
