UK based Maltese Senior Football Development Officer Conducts an Instructional Meeting for the Sliema Wanderers Youth Football Nursery Coaches.

The Sliema Wanderers Youth Nursery held another meeting for the Nursery coaches, to keep abreast with today’s new development in the game. It is a priority of the committee to give the best possible football education to all the nursery boys and girls.

For this reason the pre-season Instructional Meeting was conducted by Ms. Marion Hayton Senior Football Development Officer and Tutor for Leicestershire & Rutland FA in England. Interestingly, Ms.Hayton is Maltese and was of great assistance to the Sliema Nursery during their recent visit to Leicestershire with the Under 12 team.

She shared theory and practical sessions with the club’s Coaching staff on ‘Dealing with young players using the Four Corner Model’. This topic led to an interesting discussion about the latest developments and changes being proposed in the English Football Association’s handling of grass roots football and the long term elite player development.

All coaches fully participated in both the theory and practical sessions with great enthusiasm and acknowledged Ms.Hayton experience and infectious love and passion for the game.
