The Mellieha Sports Club with the collaboration of the Local Council will be organising the third edition of the pre-season competition, the Mellieha Challenge Cup, which serves as good preparation for the forthcoming season.

The teams taking part are Pieta Hotspurs from the MFA First Division, Gzira Utd and hosts Mellieha SC from the MFA Second Division, Sirens FC and Swieqi Utd from the MFA Third Division and Xaghra Utd from the Gozo FA First Division.

The teams were drawn in two groups as follows:

Group A : Pieta Hotspurs - Mellieha SC – Sirens FC

Group B : Xaghra Utd – Gzira Utd – Swieqi Utd

The group winners will face each other in a final game to win the tournament.
