San Giljan Giuseppe’s 9
3CX Exiles 12
(4-0)(2-5)(0-4)(3-3)
Exiles’ second win a row, against a San Giljan side whose recent negative trend continued, has them still harbouring hopes of pipping Sirens for the fourth spot, when both sides have a game still to be played. San Giljan couldn’t have had a better start, when they they were four goals to the good after the opening session, and also 6-1 ahead, early on in the second session. From then on everything went wrong for them till the end of the second period, when they conceded no less than eight goals without any reply.
They were just ahead at the interval, at 6-5, but when the last session began they were 6-9 in arrears. The Saints tried to make a recovery. Late in the match, with a couple of goals, but when Exiles scored once more it was all over.
San Giljan had three man-ups, after the interval, and they scored in their last two. Exiles did not fare so well in their numerical advantages, having had eight, but only scoring in two of them.
The Saints had four players, all with a brace of goals each, whilst exiles had Marco Cuk with his poker of strikes.
Although San Giljan are certain of a semi-final spot in the play-offs, they could lose their second position in the table, when their second round of play is now over. For Exiles, they have a last match to play, against the champions, Neptunes.
