This was the last game of this round, with Sliema returning to winning ways, and also avenging the defeat suffered at Sirens’ hands, in their previous match. The three points won also enabled Sliema to jump into second position, displacing San Giljan. Sliema introduced their young Hungarian, Victor Bendes, in goal, vice Ryan Coleiro, and there was the return from injury of Paul Privitera, but Bogdan Rath had to be left out because of the twi foreigners rule. Sirens were missing Jurgen Borg, and lost their goalie, Joseph Sammut, with a groin injury, late in the encounter.
It was Sirens in front after the opening session, but then Sliema retaliated in the second period, scoring three goal without reply, and at the interval they were 6-4 in the lead. Sirens weren still in the match, after three sessions, although a further goal behind., but they managed to draw level, only for Sliema to regain their previous advantage, with a late three goal burst, and take the spoils.
Sliema had John Soler with a nap hand of goals, and Rajmund Fodor with a hat trick. In six man ups they managed to score three times. For Sirens there was Csaba Kiss also with a handful of goals, and they were positive in their man ups, with five goals in seven occasions.
