Neptunes had an easy time against the wooden spoonists, marking their fourth consecutive victory over Exiles. The latter quickly lost any hope that they had of overhauling Sirens in third position, when the champions ran up a seven goal opening session, without any reply, leaving their opponents floundering way back. Actually the other three sessions were more balanced, but Exiles could never get any nearer. At the interval neptunes were 10-3 in front, and they edged their adversaries in the next two periods of play, even though their young bench players had quite a good part of the game.
Neptunes’ firepower was evident throughout the whole of the second round, as their players notched up bagfuls of goals. Tamas Molnar kept up his prolific scoring, from their victory over Sliema, and added seven more to his previous tally of eight. Then there were Steve Camilleri and Matthew Pisani with a poker of goals each, along with a Nicky Lanzon hat trick. There were only two man ups for the champions, both converted.
With this defeat Exiles ended their commitments for the season, as they didn’t make it to the semi finals. They had Marco Cuk with a four gaol tally, and in their three numerical advantages they found the back of the net once.
