Starbene Sports Nutrition Centre, of Independence Avenue in Mosta are the new sponsors of Malta Triathlon Champion, Keith Galea of Birkirkara St. Joseph Sports Club. A statement issued by the local representative of Starbene, states that they welcome their sponsorship with Galea who will be representing them both in local and international events. Starbene will be providing Galea with their wide range of sports supplements he will be needing to sustain his daily training regime.

Twenty-three year old Keith Galea, a product of Birkirkara St. Joseph Sports Club, is again one of the favourites to win this year’s National Triathlon Championship, especially following his recent performance in the last Sprint Triathlon Event which he won in an impressive time of 59 minutes 55 seconds.

Currently the Birkirkara St. Joseph triathlete is undergoing intensive preparations in view of his forthcoming important commitments. On the 7 August, Galea will be competing in the Desford Triathlon in the UK which consists of a 400-metre pool swim, an 18-kilometre cycle and a 5-kilometre run. At the moment, the Malta Champion is leading the general classifications of both the Birkirkara St. Joseph Triathlon Series and the Triathlete of the Year Award.

So far 2011 has been a very positive year for the Birkirkara man, claiming a bronze medal in the Triathlon Championships of the Small States of Europe, placing fourth Maltese and fifteenth overall in the cycling Tour ta’ Malta, sixth overall and second in the age group of the Bedford Classic Tri in the UK, and regularly placing in the top five in local running and cycling races.
