Malta Triathlon Champion Keith Galea confirmed his fine form with an outstanding performance in the Desford Sprint Triathlon in the UK, held earlier this month.

Galea of Birkirkara St Joseph Sports Club, registered another victory abroad in his colourful career by claiming the top spot in his category

The Birkirkara man had a very good start covering the 400m pool swim in a time of 5mins 40seconds.

After a good bike to run transition, the Malta Champion went to tackle 18km hilly course round Desford town in Leicestershire.

Confident in his climbing abilities, the Malta champion covered the 18km in 28minutes 11 seconds with an average speed of 38.3km/hr.

After a quick bike to run transition, Galea started the running segment. A 2 lap 5km course on a very rough terrain.

Although not used to run on such a difficult terrain, Galea registered a good 5km time in 17minutes 50seconds to finish the race in 53minutes 08 seconds, a 4mins personal best for the champion on such distances.

Galea thanked Starbene Sports Nutrition Centre of Independence Avenue, Mosta for their help and assistance.
