Recently, a massive concrete platform was installed in Sir Arturo Mercieca Street almost corner with Windsor Terrace that stretches across from one pavement to the other in readiness for yet another tower crane.

This was put in place in a very short time yet no one has bothered to put up a traffic sign further up at the cross road of Sir Arturo Mercieca and Howard Street informing drivers of the obstruction.

Result: a stream of cars having to reverse up.

We have just had the feast of St Gregory with the resultant traffic deviation, including down Sir Arturo Mercieca Street. Drivers in front trying to reverse, those behind them trying to do the same and those further back not knowing why!

Result: avoidable bedlam.
