In his waterpolo round-up appearing in The Times of 13 September, the newspaper’s leading commentator, Alex Vella, reviewed the “summer season”, as the subheading of the article clearly states “this year’s summer season will be commented as a memorable one for Neptunes WPSC”… There was no need for Mr Vella to make reference to the winter league.

I fail to understand the comment in The Malta Independent editorial of 17 September, wherein it was stated that The Times, a clear reference to Mr Vella, forgot to mention that Sliema had won the winter league. As stated earlier, Mr Vella reviewed the summer season. Reference to the winter season was published months ago and would have been superfluous at this stage.
