Daphna Caruana Galizia, as usual, looks for the proverbial straw in anything said or done by the PL leader and Opposition MPs. This time she referred to “the tap behind Lawrence Gonzi’s chair at Castille“ which, she argued, Joseph Muscat believes he would be able to just turn on if he is the next prime minister, and money will gush out.

What Daphne conveniently forgets is the fact that Lawrence Gonzi does not seem to have any difficulty turning to that “tap” behind his chair, to finance himself and his ministers with a whopping €500 per week salary rise. Or to finance an un-needed new parliament. Or that “bridge that leads to nowhere”. Or to use a private plane to travel at times. Or to offer Daphne 24 hour security service at Maltese taxpayers’ expense.
