The ‘Peace And Good through Quality Education’ project

Malta Independent Sunday, 25 September 2011, 00:00 Last update: about 13 years ago

A few years ago, the Franciscan Sisters of the Heart of Jesus launched a project in the Philippines called “Peace and Good through Quality Education”.

The project offers children a good education rich in Christian values that will equip them to secure a better future. Many of the children come from low-income families and others from a destitute environment. The school also offers extra curriculum programmes like the scouts group, drum and lyre group, basketball, table tennis and chess teams. Running such a programme is not easy so we thank all those who believe in this project and give us a helping hand.

Recently, while I was in Malta, the Mission Fund Mosta gave me a donation of €1,500 for the continuation of this project. Throughout the 16 years that I have worked in Third World countries, the Mission Fund always supported me and its financial help and prayers boosted my morale. Whenever help was given it changed lives and brought happiness to all those who benefited from such help.

I would like to thank all those who work at the Mission Fund and I encourage everyone to continue supporting such group through prayers, donations and used stamps. Donations can be made online or by direct bank transfer to one of the following accounts: HSBC (Account No: 061 197 448 050. BOV (Account No: 163 007 980 19) APS (Account No: 200 008 207 62) of BANIF (Account No: 000 879 631 01). More information can be accessed from its website: www.missionfund.org.mt

May the Lord continue to bless their work, which is encouraging Maltese missionaries to continue working to love God in the people they work with.
