I write in reference to the letter on the waterpolo season by A. J. Cachia (TMID, 23 September). It is easy to see who the person behind the letter is, although he tried to hide behind initials.
Still, his argument that The Times report on the waterpolo season referred only to the summer competitions does not hold water. Journalists should consider a whole season when they write a review. They should not draw a line for any reason whatsoever.
When Barcelona won six trophies in one football season, nobody said that some were won in winter and others in summer - reference was made to one whole football season. So The Times’ ignoring of the winter league - won by Sliema in a final against Sirens - was just an attempt to give the impression that Neptunes made a clean sweep of honours this year, when actually they won three out of four competitions.
