The next weeks in October will be very busy for the Malta Under 17 and Under 19 teams on the continental stage.

The teams, under the tutelage of Branko Nisevic assisted by Billy Mock in the younger category and Emanuel Farrugia in the older, will be engaged in the qualification rounds of the forthcoming Euro Championships of the respective age-groups.

The Under 17 side will be travelling to Montenegro to play in Group 11 of the 11th UEFA Championship. This group includes Montenegro, Poland and Spain.The Maltese will face Poland on 19 October, Spain on the 21st and home team Montenegro on 24 October.

These matches will certainly be difficult tests for our youngsters whose preparation in these last months has been meticulous and geared towards a tough six days of intensive competition.

In the Under 19’s section the Maltese will be travelling to Austria and will come up against the home country on 5 October, Denmark two days later and Albania on 10 October. Again, the three matches for our team over a period of six days will be an arduous proposition for our players. However it is hoped that they will acquit themselves well in these circumstances.
