The Malta Racing Club’s Autumn Championship sponsored by Cassar Fuels got underway last Friday and Sunday with four heavily contested heats from the top racing division, the Premier Class.

The good crowd present saw some excellent racing as both the Friday evening and Sunday afternoon race cards had a lot to offer in addition to the four Championship heats.

The first heats were held on Friday and were won by CARNEGIE HALL ahead of OSCARINA, and SOLID LADY SPIN in front of HAPPINESS PHOTO.

The two Sunday heats had KEELAN and FLASH COGER as the winners, with the latter registering the fastest time from all heats with 1’15’6 per kilometre, finishing ahead of LIPOUZ LESMELCHEN who had an excellent finish.

The Malta Racing Club also hosted a delegation from the French association Association Nationale De Le Seignuer de Course, which is run by retired French trotting trainers, drivers and owners. The visiting delegation presented mementos and champagne to the owners of the winning horses in the Premier heats.

Copper Class – Ninio Perrine, Inedit du Tachen, Garden Pax.

Bronze Class – Hawkear, Okapi d’Avril, Hardy Frontline, Orlando Dix.

Silver Class – Mealington, Label Chouan, Flying As, Zerbin.

Gold Class – No Comprendo, Niky du Donjon, Lacoste I.T.
