The Malta Stock Exchange Index increased by 12.254 points or 0.4 per cent on Thursday to close at the 3,120.445 level. This increase was registered through 66 transactions, with a relatively significant amount of activity in Bank of Valletta Plc, where an aggregate of 105, 691 shares changed hands. The price fell by 2c, or 0.8 percent from Thursday’s closing price, thus closing at €2.450.
Out of the ten equities that registered trades, four shares reported improvement in prices. International Hotel Investments Plc registered the highest percentage gain during Friday’s session, gaining 3.7 percent, or 2c9, reaching €0.820.
HSBC Bank Malta Plc also reported a drop of 1c or 0.4 percent through two transactions in which 2,488 shares changed hands, reaching €2.640. Malta International Airport Plc also registered positive gains that saw the share price increase by a 1c or 0.6 percent, through six transactions of 54,012 shares. MIA shares closed at €1.660. Maltapost Plc registered a 1c or 1.0 percent increase by the end of the trading session, closing at €0.990.
Simonds Farsons Cisk Plc had two transactions amounting to an aggregate of 36,666 shares. This activity caused the share price to increase by 3c, or 1.7 percent, closing the session at €1.830.
Amongst shares that registered transactions, GO Plc, Plaza Centres Plc, Crimsonwing Plc and RS2 Software Plc did not report any changes in their respective closing prices.

Out of these, the 7.15% Mediterranean Holdings Plc 2015/17 reported the largest gain during the trading session, increasing by €2.00 or 2 percent, reaching €100.00. The 6.250% International Hotel Investments Plc 2017-2020 reported a drop of 75c0 or 0.8 percent, reaching €99.25 per bond. The 7.15% FIMBank Plc 2012-2019 increased by 45c or 0.4 percent through one transaction of a volume of €7,400, closing at €101.00.
In the government bond market, a total nominal value of €185,233 changed hands over twelve deals which amounted to a market value of €192,498.
