‘Believe’ – Football photography exhibition by Domenic Aquilina

‘Believe’ is an exhibition of 45 original football photographs by Domenic Aquilina in aid of charity. This unique exhibition features some of Domenic’s best photos covering the last seven UEFA Champions League finals and as well local football.

This first solo exhibition by Malta’s foremost sports photographer and UEFA accredited photographer covers the UEFA Champions League competition from 2005 onwards with shots capturing the euphoria of such important matches.

Local football supporters will also find an interesting selection of action-filled photos covering national league matches and other important events.

All proceeds from the “one of five” 30” x 20” framed prints, which were shot using professional Canon photo equipment will go towards Assocjazzjoni Voluntarji Lourdes, a local charity.

The exhibition will be inaugurated by Clyde Puli, Parliamentary Secretary for Youth and Sports on Friday 21 October at 8pm at the Hotel Cavalieri, St Julians. David Farrelly, Head of UEFA Online and Publishing will also be present. The exhibition will run for three weeks.

This exhibition was held thanks to the generous support of the main sponsors Atlas Insurance, Avantech (Canon), Banif Bank (Malta), Halmann Vella Ltd and Toyota.

Camilleri Wines, Deco Manufacturing, Dhalia Group, Farsons Group, FujiFilm, Hotel Cavallieri and VJ Salomone are also supporting the event.

Domenic Aquilina is a professional photographer specialising in sports photography.

He is also the official contributor to www.uefa.com – the official site of the Union of European Football Associations, and a regular photographic contributor to UEFA’s various publications.

Domenic is also a regular contributor to various leading publications abroad, namely Guerin Sportivo (Bologna, Italy), World Soccer (England), Don Balon (Spain) and accredited photographer to Granangular, a leading stock photo agency in Barcelona, pain.

He is an accredited member of the Association Internationale de la Presse Sportive (AIPS), Institute of Maltese Journalists, The Malta Sports Journalists Association and The Malta Institute of Professional Photographers.

He is also the official photographer for the Malta Football Association.

The beneficiary from this exhibition, Assocjazzjoni Voluntarji Lourdes, was formed to assist the sick to travel from Malta to visit the Shrine of the Blessed Virgin of Lourdes. There are often cases when persons are not capable of travelling on their own to visit in pilgrimage. AVL also sponsors the sick who cannot afford to pay. This year the association is celebrating its 10th anniversary.
