Malta Independent Wednesday, 19 October 2011, 00:00 Last update: about 13 years ago

After months of hard work, preparation and a new sense of enthusiasm, La Salle Handball Club inaugurated the new season with the new executive committee of the club being formed by President Victor Zammit, Secretary Maria Psaila Valletta, Vice President Clive Ferrante, Treasurer Margaret Mercieca and PRO Raffaella Zammit Tabona. They were re-elected following the club’s AGM this summer.

La Salle Handball Club has also secured the services of coach Ian Psaila for the Men’s seniors team for the upcoming season. Psaila will replace Swedish coach Lotta Malmberg.

Zammit also presented two new players, James Farrugia, last season’s league top scorer and national team player Neville Borg.

In the ladies section the club also secured the services of coach John Falzon.

The club president congratulated the women’s seniors team for their success in the “2011 Handball Fest” two weeks ago where the La Sallians placed third in a tournament held in Florence, Italy, being the first local women’s team to compete on foreign grounds and hence representing the Maltese handball society.

The President also stated that despite all these changes within the structure of the club, La Salle will remain one of the top Maltese club’s vying for honours in the men’s, women’s and junior categories.

La Salle Handball Club thanked their sponsors Trendi, Caccu Social Club, ZT Development, KIA Motors, PRO LED, Eurosport and AV Servicing for their continued support.
