Anthony Lee Baldacchino has been appointed acting president of Marsaxlokk FC.

The decision was taken by the committee during a meeting held earlier this week.

Baldacchino is to retain his position as secretary general of the club.

A few days ago, Marsaxlokk had passed a vote of no confidence in former president Robert Micallef.

The latter tendered his resignation following the vote.

Two persons, Cedric John Baldacchino and Anthony Sciberras have been co-opted into the committee which is still not in a position to appoint a treasurer. This is because the committee has not accepted the resignation of Carmelo Grech, something which it has also asked the MFA to do.

The club has also announced a sponsorship agreement with the firm Carpigiani whose representative in Malta is Renato Attard.
