Trading activity during Friday’s session on the Malta Stock Exchange ended in positive territory as the Index closed by 7.1 points higher to reach 3,092.076. A total of sixty one transactions were carried out, in which an aggregate of 535,065 shares changed hands, amounting to a market value of €417,122.21.

Bank of Valletta shares ended the day lower, with a drop of 0.8 percent or 1c9 over Thursday’s closing price, to close the session at €2.400.

BOV Plc has issued their audited financial statements for the financial year end for the financial year ended 30th September 2011. The Bank of Valletta Group has recorded a profit before taxation of €64.4 million for the year ended 30 September 2011. A final gross dividend of €0.08 per share and a bonus share issue of one share for every eight shares has been proposed.

HSBC Bank Malta Plc shares, registered an increase in price, through 3 transactions. HSBC shares increased by 0.3 percent, or 0c9 to close at €2.640.

FIMBank Plc registered the highest level of activity and the highest gains on Friday, with 425,000 shares being exchanged through 10 transactions. This activity caused FIMBank shares to jump by 7.5%, or 5c of a US dollar, to reach US$0.720.

Malta International Airport Plc registering a gain of 2.9 percent, or 5c0, to close at €1.750.

International Hotels Investments Plc (IHI) registered a loss of 0.50 percent or 0c4 from Thursday’s closing price, to close at €0.815.

Crimsonwing Plc registered to highest loss during Friday’s session, shedding 11.24 percent or 3c8 to reach €0.30.

RS2 Software Plc registered a sole transaction of 2,000 shares this did not have an effect on the share’s closing price and remained unchanged from Thursday’s session.

Island Hotels Group Holdings Plc reported a drop of 5 percent, or 4c5, to close at €0.850.

While GO Plc shares registered one trade amounting to 500 shares during Friday’s session. This activity saw the share climb by 2c8, or 2.8 percent, to close at €1.029.

MIDI Plc registered a sole transaction of 3,000 shares, albeit not having any effect on the price and closed at €0.390.

In the corporate bond market, a nominal amount of €353,800 in bonds was transacted over twenty four transactions amounting to an aggregate market value of €307,521.33.
