This national competition is an established annual feature in the seasonal calendar of Badminton Malta. It primarily serves to focus the spotlight on the emerging talents within the national Association’s junior ranks.

The Championships comprise the U/13 and U/16 as well as U/19 events, each one of which awards Singles and Doubles national titles.

They will be played entirely at the Cottonera Sports Complex between today and tomorrow starting at 2pm.

Colloquially known as the “Junior Nationals”, these Championships never fail to generate considerable interest among all the Association’s junior members and their respective families and friends.

In all the categories, the defending champions will once again have to showcase their technical and tactical skills if they are to retain their crown for yet another edition.

A keen tussle is expected as their opponents will be doing their utmost to spring a surprise on the defending champions in each category.

While wishing the best of luck to all the participants, Badminton Malta expressed its satisfaction at the high number of competitors who will be vying for its national titles; this evidences the ever increasing popularity of this sport.

It also invited the Maltese sporting public to attend these Championships in order to appreciate Maltese Junior Badminton at its best.
