The Administrative Council of Fleur-de-Lys will be organising a 5k race on Sunday 13 November to commemorate the 400 years from the construction of the Wignacourt Aquaduct.

All proceeds from the race (open, juniors and walk) will go towards the Malta Community Chest Fund. The event will start at 9am.

The first male and female will receive prize money of €50 each, second placed will get €30 each and third placed €20 each. Several trophies are also to be presented.

A commemorative medal and a goodie bag will be given to all participants. A  €10 euro voucher will be given on any Adidas, Reebok or Skechers footwear purchased. Any athlete winning more than one prize is to accept the first prize.

Route: Start near Eurosport, Psaila Street, up to Fleur de Lys Junction, across Fleur de Lys Road, up to roundabout, turning right to Mdina Road along Aquaduct, right to De Paule Avenue, Balzan (Corinthia Hotel), left to Old Railway Road, through Gnien l-Istazzjon, crossing Fleur de Lys Road, Psaila Street, finishing at Eurosport.

The Open race is for athletes 17 years old or over on the day of the race. Six year olds and over are eligible to take part in the juniors event, while the Walk is open to all.

Closing Date for applications is next Saturday 5 November.

Race numbers and goodie bags are to be collected from Eurosport in Psaila Street, on Saturday 12 November between 10am and 1pm.
