If the Prime Minister wants to know if there is still “trust” in his government, he should hold another referendum – or call a general election. Asking Parliament for a vote of confidence is purely and simply a damage-limitation exercise in the wake of the vote taken on the PL’s motion of no confidence in Austin Gatt, when it was only the Speaker’s vote against the motion that saved Dr Gatt from humiliation!
