Gzira U. 2
Siggiewi 0
Gzira United are still first in the table, now having 17 points after achieving another win against Siggiewi. The game was completely dominated by Gzira who rarely gave Siggiewi any opportunity to find the net.
Gzira took the lead on the 17th minute when Simon Shead scored with a low central shot following Antoine Galea’s cross.
On the 41st minute, Gzira were about to double their score, however Ryan Deguara’s goal was cancelled due to an offside position.
However, this did not discourage the maroons and on 57th minute they were successful when Ryan Deguara’s angled shot was partially saved by Siggiewi’s goalkeeper Jonathan Vella and from the rebound, Anthony Ewurun concluded with a close range shot.
Siggiewi’s minimal opportunities at scoring did not bear fruit and remained without a score till the very end. So far, Siggiewi have gained a total of nine points together with San Gwann, St Venera and Zebbug.
