A challenge for a semi-final place was up for grabs and the game lived up to expectations.

Both teams came close to scoring in the early stages but Rabat pressed hard winning five penalty corners in quick succession.

They went ahead after a Josef Antonelli cross was unfortunately deflected into goal off a defender’s stick totally wrong footing the White Hart goalkeeper.

White Hart reacted strongly and in the 34th minute Karl Tua lashed onto a through pass and flicked in to level the score.

The second half started rather quietly and White Hart missed a golden opportunity to go ahead in the 18th minute.

From a quick counter attack in the 19th minute Branko Radojevic scored with a shot from the top of the D to put Rabat back into the lead.

White Hart kept pegging away and their efforts were rewarded when in the 58th minute Mark Zahra scored to level the score. The game went into extra time but the score remained unchanged.

Penalties were then taken to decide the tie with Rabat scoring four to White Hart’s three and securing their place in the semi finals which will be played on Sunday as follows: Qormi-Rabat; Hotsticks-Young Stars
