The MFA Protest Board has deferred its decision over the protest lodged by Birkirkara FC against the result of their Premier League match against Tarxien Rainbows.
The Rainbows won the match 3-2, but Birkirkara claimed that the official had committed a technical error. They said that the referee should not have allowed the Rainbows’ third goal to stand as there were two balls on the field of play at that time.
At yesterday’s sitting, Dr A Delia put forward his submissions on behalf of Birkirkara and it was here that Tarxien protested claiming that Delia had no right to do that because he is the Stripes MFA Council member.
The Board then decided to request a ruling from the MFA Council on this issue which has now been left pending.
