Amateur sport in Malta has received a boost with the news that Betfair, the world’s biggest betting exchange, has launched its successful Cash 4 Clubs scheme in Malta.

The scheme gives all sports clubs in Malta the chance to win grants ranging from €250 to €1,000.

As a key investor and employer on the island, Betfair (Malta) is keen to offer support to local sporting clubs and organisations, with direct funding aimed at supporting their growth and development.

Local sports clubs with their communities at heart are encouraged to visit the Cash4Clubs Malta website (http://www.cash-4-clubs.com/malta/) and fill in an application form. The closing date for applications is 30 November.

Betfair’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) team in Malta will then review all applications received and contact the successful applicants.

Cash 4 Clubs is a sports funding scheme which gives clubs a unique chance to apply for grants to improve facilities, purchase new equipment, gain coaching qualifications, and generally invest in the sustainability of their club. The scheme has run since 2008 in the UK, in which time £156,149 has been given out to 217 community sports clubs. It is a flexible, no-fuss way to get some help for clubs or teams.
