All MTFSA divisions Set to be interesting

Malta Independent Thursday, 24 November 2011, 00:00 Last update: about 15 years ago

The second day of the Table Football League organised by the MTFSA was played last Sunday and all three divisions seem to be interesting, even if the leagues are still at an early stage.

Twelve players are taking part in the Premier League and both Derek Conti (Valletta SC) and Mark Gauci (ATLAS) have 23 points, closely followed by Samuel Bartolo (Valletta SC) on 22 points. Mark Gauci is the current champion of Malta and Samuel Bartolo won last year’s KO.

In the first division, Mauro Camilleri (Bormla SC) leads with 14 points, while Adam Gatt (Piraeus Lions) is second with 11 points. There are four players in third place with nine points and these are Mario Camilleri (Valletta SC), Jean Carl Tabone (Palermo ASC), Josef Camilleri (Bormla SC) and Darren Carabott (Lazio). Both Mauro and Josef Camilleri helped Bormla SC to achieve sixth place in this year’s Europa League last month.

In the second division there are five newcomers and the leader of this division is Andrew Abela (Valletta SC) with 12 points, followed by Simon Gauci (Attard SC) and Melvin Barun (Bormla SC) on nine points.

The MTFSA is holding the third day of the league on 13 December at the Msida Melita Band Club, Ghaqda San Guzepp at 9am.
