Last weekend in Chianchiano Terme, Tuscany, Massimo Cremona helped his Reggio Emilia side triumph in the Italian Cup reserved for clubs.
The best 16 Italian teams played in this prestigious competition. Cremona figured out in all his club matches.
In the final Reggio Emilia beat Perugia on golden goal after 1-1 draw during the game.
In a rematch of this Year World Cup Final Massimo Cremona was paired with Massimiliano Nastasi. Same result of 2-2 was the final score with Cremona notching the equaliser against Nastasi in the last 10 seconds of the match to put the final game in extra time.
Spaniard Flores scored the decisive goal to give the Cup to Reggio Emilia after an absence of eight years.Reggio Emilia reached the final in the last four editions of the competition.
In the group stages, Reggio Emilia were drawn against Pisa 0-1, Napoli 2-1 and Ferrara 3-0 to advance as second from the group.
In the quarter final Reggio Emilia beat CCT Roma 3-1 ,while in the semi final they defeated Milano 3-1.
It was Cremona’s second success in the Coppa Italia having won it back in 2007 with Perugia.
“I am happy to have helped my team win the Coppa Italia after eight years. It was our fourth consecutive final. I am happy about my performance from the quarter final onwards, where it was a do-or-die match every time. It’s my fourth season with Reggio Emilia which, with this success, have won everything in table football. I thank all my team mates for all this success,” he said.
