The Malta Cadet, School Boys and Girls national championships were held at the Naxxar Boys Secondary in front of quite a crown of family members and friends which had the occasion to appreciate the results of hard training.

For the first time ever the Malta Amateur Wrestling Federation introduced the national championships for females. The contestants from the fair sex gave quite a good account of themselves.

In all no less than nine weight categories were contested. The youngsters from the Qawra Wrestling Club managed to win all four schoolgirls weight categories.

On the other hand the Cadet division (male) was a different matter. Qawra won two categories, the same as Naxxar Boys Secondary,
