I was one of a small group of people who relished seeing some of the lions brought over by the circus while they were lounging about in their pens one fine morning when it was not yet show time.
I think it is time to thank the Maltese and Italian entrepreneurs who year in year out make it possible for those of us who cannot afford to travel abroad to see such fine beasts in flesh and blood and not virtually on the internet or the television screen, seeing that the few feathered and haired quadrupeds, which taxpayers and others could enjoy for free, at San Anton Gardens are no longer there maybe due to political correctness or some such fad.
