Antoine Sacco scored a hat-trick in Lija’s 6-0 rout of Victoria to put them through to the fourth round of the Ubet FA Trophy yesterday.

Lija dominated throughout with Victoria never really being in the match. Lija could have gone ahead as early as the 15th minute with a shot from Camilleri but Victoria goalkeeper Grima partially saved and from the rebound Sacco’s shot at goal was again saved by Grima.

Sacco opened the score seven minutes later with heading the ball past Grima from a Fleri Soler cross. On 34 minutes it was Abdullahi Adeshina Ige who beat Grima with a log range shot for a half time score of 2-0.

After the break Lija had another opportunity with Conceicao just missing the target. On the 53rd It was Gilbert Camilleri who put Lija 3-0 ahead. Antoine Sacco added another two goals to make them 5-0. When matters seemed to have been settled and well into injury time Daniel Scerri sealed the score strolling through Victoria’s defence to beat Grima for a final score of 6-0.
