Spanish goalkeeper Jorge Mora has been released by Birkirkara FC, after he asked the club to terminate his contract for personal reasons.
Both parties reached an amicable solution, and ended the contract with mutual consent. Mora is set to return to his homeland Spain in the coming days.
The committee thanked the player for his service to the club, particularly when he was part of the squad that won the Premier League two seasons ago.
Sources close to the club said yesterday they are now seeking the services of Marsaxlokk goalkeeper Reuben Gauci. Reports say that negotiations should be concluded soon.
Another Marsaxlokk player expected to join the Stripes is left flank defender Carlo Mamo. Negotiations are still ongoing, even if other clubs seem to be interested the player’s services.
