It’s that time of year again! During the festive season many tend to have parties and other occasions where drinking is a pre-requisite, and tend to knock back an extra drink or two, sometimes without a thought for the fact that they have to drive home afterwards.
Every year a campaign is carried out to remind people of the perils of drinking and driving, and warning of how this could cost them their life, or how they might have to live their lives with the remorse of having killed someone else.
I would just like to point out that this is something which should be highlighted all year round, not just during the festive season.
People, particularly younger people, tend to go out with their friends and think nothing of downing large quantities of alcohol, before hopping into their car to drive home. This relaxed attitude to drinking and driving must change.
