St Andrew’s consolidated their fifth place in the standings thanks to a slender victory against bottom of the table St Patrick.

St Andrew’s dominated the match in the first half as they built a two-goal lead with goals from Brian Said on 33 minutes and Nicky Vella Petroni from the penalty spot three minutes from the break.

In the second half St Andrew’s controlled the match with relative ease until the 84 th minute when Bernard Engoudou headed home for St Patrick from close range.

The Zabbar pushed desperately forward in the remaining minutes with the Luxol side panicking under pressure.

However St Andrew’s managed to hold on to their advantage to notch their fifth win of the season.

Dingli swallows pushed Vittoriosa in trouble when they beat 1-0 thanks to 73rd minute goal scored by Leontiev Konda.

Konda was undoubtedly the best player on the field of play and together with new signing Porcari, was a constant headache for the Vittoriosa rearguard.

For the Stars it was yet another disappointing performance with their goalkeeper Ivan cassar effecting a string of impressive saves to keep his opponents at bay.

Vittoriosa had a promising start with Marcelo Pereira in the limelight, but their initial flair faded away giving way to Dingli’s dominance.

Konda’s five star performance was crowned on 73 minutes when he darted in the area for a Porcari pass as he beat Cassar in style after rounding two defenders.
